A POT, A BEAR, A POT, A ROBOT…

...Art is always rhetorical artifice. Apart the obvious and common etymological origin - Art/Artifice - in such sentence what can sounds excessive is the attribute "rhetorical", because the rhetorical is usually considered as something old, stale, false, distant from the reality. Instead, that's not like this. The rhetorical is the art of the convinciment, and it is put in action - I repeat, in every social relashionship, as Hans Georg Gadamer, for example, points well out: social relashionships, made possible only by one or more common languages to the interlocutors, are governed by the rhetorical just because every "social" language is rhetorical, having as aim the convinciment of the Other. Therefore, it exists so an effective rhetorical and an ineffective one, as the oratories well know, but it does not exist speech without rhetorical, as an image without a rhetorical does not exist. All this in order to introduce the new cycle of Matteo Confalonieri's works in which, unlike the prvious works, the estranging use of the rhetorical is very visible.
